Shotguns, rocket launcher seized in Windsor bust

Windsor police have confiscated a cache of weapons and arrested two men following a raid Friday.

Members of the Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Unit executed a search warrant on a house on Bernard Road near Guy Street. They seized two shotguns, a rifle, a blank handgun, and a pellet revolver.

Constable Adam Young also said a pair of brass knuckles was removed, with a single-use M-72 rocket launcher. The latter was fired but with no ammunition.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene Friday and a 40-year-old man Sunday on Ypres Avenue.

Both men are charged with multiple counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, of a restricted weapon without a licence, possession of a loaded weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, and possession of weapons while prohibited. The 27-year-old man is also charged with five counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
