Over $600k in materials stolen from Windsor business

Windsor police are investigating after more than $600,000 worth of equipment was stolen from a commercial business in the city's west end.

According to investigators, an unknown number of suspects broke into the property near the area of Russell Street and Hill Avenue sometime last Sunday.

Police say the thieves took off with portable generators, a service truck, a trailer, cables, copper tubing, and piping pumps. Thankfully the truck and two generators were recovered by police in a parking lot near the corner of Plymouth Drive and Central Avenue. However, the remaining $600,000 in stolen goods remain missing.

"Investigators ask anyone in the 3800 block of Russell St. or the area of Plymouth Dr. and Central Ave. between 10 p.m. on January 7 to 6:00 a.m. on January 8 to check their dash-cam or surveillance footage for any evidence related to this case," read a statement from the Windsor Police Service.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Target Base Unit at 519-255-6700 extension: 4350, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
