WDBA looking for new CEO

The selection process for a new Chief Executive Officer of the Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority is officially underway.

The former CEO, Bryce Phillips, resigned from the position on Friday. A reason for the resignation was not made public.

The job description and application process have been posted on the government's Notice of Appointment Opportunity online.

"This merit-based selection process will find the right candidate to lead the team at WDBA and ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project, which will deliver major economic benefits for Canadian workers and businesses," said Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities Dominic LeBlanc.

The government is looking for someone with extensive leadership experience delivering major infrastructure projects. The position pays up to $287,900 a year.

Applications are being accepted until January 30, 2023.

The Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority is a not-for-profit Canadian Crown Corporation responsible for overseeing and managing the construction and operation of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.

The $5.7 billion project is slated to be completed by the fall of 2024.
