If you still haven't visited Bright Lights Windsor in Jackson Park this year, your last chance is this Sunday.
The displays will be open until 10 p.m. before the city turns off the lights for the last time this winter.
Sunday night is also the last evening for the WE Made It Holiday Market, featuring local goods sold by artisans across the region.
This year's expanded festival includes a new Royal Promenade in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away earlier this year. It also featured the Holiday Train, the Enchanted Children's Village, and Santa's Workshop.
It's the second consecutive year for the popular festival, which returned last winter following a hiatus in 2020-21 because of COVID-19 public health restrictions.
The City of Windsor closed the festival briefly on Boxing Day when a strong winter storm swept through Ontario and Quebec, bringing frigid temperatures and high winds. It had only closed once before, during the 2019 season when wind gusts threatened the displays.
Windsor City Council approved the event back in August 2017 with a budget of $3-million. It debuted that year and has grown since then.
