OPP make arrest in Lakeshore theft and assault

The Ontario Provincial Police charged a Lakeshore man with theft and assault offences after an incident last Thursday.

The OPP were called to a home on Linda Crescent, near County Road 42 and Elmstead Road, to investigate the theft of a utility trailer.

Police said when the victim confronted the thief, there was an altercation.

Officers found the suspect later and arrested a 53-year-old man.

The suspect is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possession of property obtained by crime.

The charges haven't been proven in court. The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor at a later date.
