The Windsor Police Service is looking for a suspect in a string of robberies in the city's east end this holiday season.
Three different convenience stores were robbed between December 25 and 28, 2022. In each instance, suspects entered the stores waving hammers, threatened the employees and stole money and cigarettes.
No employees were physically harmed during the robberies.
In the first incident, a man entered a gas station on Walker Road around 11:45 p.m. Christmas Day. After stealing money from the store's cash register, the suspect fled in a stolen white Chevrolet Cruze driven by a unknown accomplice. The vehicle has since been recovered.
The second incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on December 26. In this case, two men entered a convenience stores on Tecumseh Road near Cadillac Street. They stole money and a carton of cigarettes before taking off on foot.
Around 3 a.m. on December 28, a man wielding a hammer entered a convenience store on Tecumseh Road near Windermere Road. He stole some cash and took off on foot.
On December 29, 2022, investigators in the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit arrested a 36-year-old suspect on Drouillard Road. He faces charges of robbery and wearing a mask with intent.
Police continue to search for the second suspect involved in the robberies. The suspect is a white male, between 25 and 30 years, 6’ tall, with a slim build. He wore a black jacket, black pants and a blue surgical mask at the time of the robbery.
