Windsor residents suddenly have one less option for food delivery.
Jubzi Windsor announced Thursday via its official Facebook page that it was terminating service, effective immediately.
"We regret to inform everyone that we have shut down Jubzi," read the post. "The high gas prices made it super difficult to retain drivers and when we focused just on pickup the business began to unravel. We did our absolute best, but there was no way of saving it."
The post was accompanied by a video from founder Thanos Zikantas, who said every effort was made to keep the service afloat.
"As many of you know, we had to stop delivery earlier in the year, and we started focusing on pickup, but that was not enough," said Zikantas.
The service delivered for a handful of Windsor restaurants, and with each order, a donation was made to the Downtown Mission. Zikantas said a "couple of hundred thousand" dollars in donations were generated over a two-year period.
Zikantas added in the video that the end may not be permanent, urging people to "keep an eye out for Jubzi".
