Woman facing charges for allegedly defrauding employer

A 61-year-old Windsor woman is facing charges after allegedly heavily discounting items at a local business.

The Windsor Police Service started a fraud investigation in early November at a business on Walker Road. Investigators learned an employee had been selling items at a discount, costing the company over $6,000 in lost revenue.

Officers learned the employee issued discounts on over 1,800 items between September and October of 2022.

The woman was arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense.  The charges have not been proven in court.
