Police charge suspect after restaurant window smashed

A Windsor man is accused of smashing a restaurant window and threatening the police officers who came to arrest him.

Early Saturday morning, Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to a restaurant in Tecumseh on Tecumseh Road East near Shawnee Road.

They spotted the broken window, and the staff at the restaurant pointed out a suspect.

However, during the arrest, the suspect became verbally and physically aggressive, and an officer was hurt.

A 28-year-old suspect is charged with mischief under $5,000, uttering threats, causing a disturbance, and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.

The accused has a scheduled court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
