A Windsor man has been charged after attempting to flee LaSalle police officers overnight.
LaSalle police say officers were called around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday to a domestic disturbance complaint. When police arrived, the man took off in his vehicle. Police recognized the man from a previous incident and determined he violated court-ordered conditions.
After unsuccessfully using a tire deflation device to stop the man's car, the suspect continued to flee. Officers were able to use their vehicles to bring the suspect's car to a controlled stop. One police cruiser sustained minor damage as a result.
The man became combative with police but was eventually subdued and arrested.
The 54-year-old man is charged with fleeing a peace officer, dangerous driving, failure to comply with an undertaking, and resisting arrest. He was also issued a three-day driver's licence suspension for driving while impaired.
The charges have not been proven in court.
