Kingsville manufacturing companies expanding with help from the province

Two Kingsville companies received $500,000 grants from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund to help with expansions.

MC3 Manufacturing, a conveyor system manufacturer, is investing $6.8 million to expand its facility.

"We're upgrading our paint system, so our throughput, our efficiency, quality, everything goes up with it. This is a fantastic investment for both of us," said James Richards, plant manager at MC3 Manufacturing.

Construction on the expansion is expected to start in the first quarter of 2023. It is expected to take eight to twelve months to complete. The expansion will create around 19 jobs.

Idol Core Industries is investing $5.1 million to relocate and expand its manufacturing operations in Kingsville.

The company creates sustainable solutions for plastic products using compostable materials for the agricultural sector.

“Over the next four years, our grant will be put to good use as we upgrade to our larger facility and acquire new machines and technology. This will help generate new employment opportunities and will bring innovative capabilities to the community,” said Paul Incitti, president of Idol Core Industries.

The expansion will create around ten jobs in the region.

"Our government is proud to support local manufacturers in Southwestern Ontario as they grow and create more good-paying jobs in their communities,” said Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “Investing in these types of community-building projects will help us continue to build Ontario, and strengthen the economy."
