Standing at the location of the new electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant, Drew Dilkens announced he is seeking another term as the mayor of the City of Windsor.
Dilkens said Windsor is at a pivotal point in its history with the battery plant and construction of a new hospital in the works.
He says he has a proven track record of bringing investments like these into the city and he'd like to continue advocating for future development.
"In the next four years, wise investments in community infrastructure to ensure that all residents can fully realize the potential and the promise of all of these opportunities and the opportunities that it gives us, it's more important than ever, we need leadership that delivers," said Dilkens.
He plans to release his platform later this fall but indicated it will focus on building on the foundation set in the last eight years.
"I want to put out practical but aspirational platform pillars that are going to make sense to residents of Windsor and that they're going to look at and say 'I can see the value in that,'" said Dilkens.
Current Ward 4 Councillor Chris Holt, Benjamin Danyluk, and Ernie Lamont are also vying for the mayor's position.
There is only one week left to file nomination papers for the upcoming election.
Election Day is October 24.
