WAP workers offered early retirement incentives

Stellantis, which owns the Windsor Assembly Plant, is reducing its workforce over the next several months.

The company issued a statement Tuesday morning saying it will offer eligible employees at its Windsor and Brampton Assembly Plants a retirement incentive program.

"The company will make every effort to place laid off hourly employees in open full-time positions as they become available, based on seniority," continued the statement.

Stellantis has a targed of 50 per cent battery electric sales by 2030 in North America and said, "as we transition to a sustainable, mobility tech company, we continue to review our operations for efficiencies."

More to come.
