U of W to seek input as strategic plan continues

The University of Windsor is turning back to the community as it continues to plot its path forward.

The school's next strategic plan is entitled Aspire: Together for Tomorrow, and members of the university community are invited to provide their ideas to start the plan's process. A total of four public "listening sessions" have been set for the remainder of the summer.

"We’re calling on all members of our neighbouring community to share their thoughts on important issues like what they see as the University’s role in supporting or addressing opportunities and challenges in our region, and what changes could be made to make the campus more welcoming and open to the surrounding community," said U of W President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Robert Gordon. "We want people to know that their voice matters and their perspective will have a significant impact on the University’s future."

Gordon added that the Aspire plan identifies a path toward reaching long-term objectives and strengthens the school's contributions to life in Windsor-Essex and beyond.

The listening sessions are all in-person with the first two taking place on July 26 and August 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mackenzie Hall Cultural Centre in Olde Sandwich Towne. Two more are scheduled for July 28 and August 13 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Alan Wildeman Centre for the Creative Arts in downtown Windsor.
