Seventeen witnesses could testify at an inquest into the death of an inmate at the Southwest Detention Centre in Windsor.
Delilah Blair died in the hospital in May 2017 after she was transferred from the jail to Windsor Regional Hospital.
The 30-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her cell. Correctional staff performed first aid until an ambulance arrived.
The inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act whenever a death isn't the result of natural causes. It will examine the circumstances around Blair's passing.
Doctor David Eden will preside over the inquest, which will start at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, at the Holiday Inn and Suites Ambassador Bridge on Huron Church Road. Kate Forget and Johnathan Lall will serve as inquest counsel.
The inquest is expected to last nine days.
