HDGH Foundation golf outing raises $52K

A golf outing this week raised over $52,000 for a local hospital's foundation.

Over a hundred golfers participated Thursday in the Fore! Ever in Our Hearts Charity Golf Classic at Pointe West Golf Club in Amherstburg. The annual fundraiser for the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation not only remembered people who were recently lost, but also supported programs at the west Windsor facility.

"We are grateful to be able to come together once again as a community and are honoured to have the support of so many individuals, organizations, and businesses," said HDGH Foundation Executive Director Barbara Sebben. "There are many exciting developments within our hospital’s Foundation and some very significant projects we are working on to both improve and expand programs and services."

The photographs of six loved ones of donors and sponsors were displayed at various points along the golf course.

Golfers donated $300 apiece to the event, which included 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, dinner, and prizes.

The HDGH Foundation is also behind a variety of charity events held throughout the year, including the upcoming Bob Probert Ride, held in memory of the late Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks forward. Another popular event, the Heartbreaker Challenge, was put on hold in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
