Local riding associations continue to put candidates in place for the provincial election this spring.
The Ontario Liberal Party has named City of Windsor Ward 8 Councillor Gary Kaschak as its candidate for Windsor-Tecumseh.
'I've lived in this area, coached some hockey and baseball in Tecumseh and Riverside. I'm quite connected to the community and I thought well maybe I can make a little bit of a bigger difference at the provincial level as a representative," said Kaschak.
He says his campaign will focus on three main areas.
"My platform is really about the three cares, which is healthcare, long-term care and child care. Those are three real important, pertinent things right now in our community," said Kaschak.
Also running in Windsor-Tecumseh is Tecumseh Councillor Andrew Dowie for the Conservatives and Gemma Grey-Hall for the NDP.
The Ontario Party Association in Essex has named Frank Causarano as its candidate.
The Ontario Party was formed in 2018. It currently has one sitting MPP. Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Rick Nicholls moved to the Ontario Party after he was forced to leave the Progressive Conservatives for refusing to get vaccinated.
Also running in Essex are Trustee Ron LeClair for the NDP, Manpreet Brar for the Liberal Party, and Anthony Leardi for the Progressive Conservatives.
