Province hosting vaccine clinic in Tecumseh

The provincial government will host a vaccine clinic in Tecumseh on Tuesday.

A GO-VAXX bus will be parked at the Tecumseh Arena and Recreation Complex from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Trained staff will be administering first, second, and booster doses to all eligible residents by appointment only.

“We are happy to welcome the GO-VAXX bus to Tecumseh,” said Mayor Gary McNamara. “We hope this will make getting vaccinated more convenient for some residents and encourage anyone who needs a shot to book a spot.”

Appointments can only be booked through the provincial booking system by visiting the online site or calling the booking line at 1-833-943-3900. Appointments for this mobile clinic cannot be booked through the Windsor Essex County Health Unit book site WEVAX.ca. There are approximately 300 appointments available for this event.

The vaccine administered will be Pfizer or Moderna, depending on availability and provincial guidelines.

The local health unit is still booking appointments for all doses at Devonshire Mall, Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, and the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre in Leamington. Appointments for these locations can be booked through WEVax.ca.
