Stolen vehicle involved in Leamington crash

A Windsor woman is facing charges after a vehicle stolen from the City of Windsor was involved in a crash in Leamington.

On Thursday night, OPP officers in Essex saw a suspicious vehicle that had been reported stolen from Windsor on County Road 20. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver took off. A tire deflation device was used on the car.

Later, the vehicle was seen entering Leamington on a flat tire. A short distance later the vehicle was involved in a collision.

The driver exited the vehicle and tried to run from the scene.

The 29-year-old was arrested and charged with running from police, theft of a motor vehicle, and dangerous operation of a vehicle. The charges have not been proven in court.
