Firefighters called out to two house fires

A fire in the west end of Windsor has left two people homeless.

The fire on Piche Street, between Ryan Street and Wyandotte Street West, caused $150,000 damage.

Fire officials said it started Wednesday night.

They blamed the careless disposal of smoking materials for the fire.

Meanwhile, another house fire on Tuesday caused $200,000 damage.

That was on South Cameron Boulevard at Alexandra Avenue.

The occupant burned his hands.

The cause of that fire is listed as undetermined.
