The City of Windsor is relighting the lights at Jackson Park after a temporary closure.

The closure was "out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of everyone", as Environment Canada put a wind warning into effect Saturday evening.

Park officials reported that displays blew over, as winds reached up to 115 kilometers per hour in parts of the city.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has recently warned of possible COVID-19 exposure at the event.

The Bright Lights display runs until January 9, 2022.
