A couple of men from Brantford face charges after border officials at the Ambassador Bridge found $12-million worth of cocaine in a tractor-trailer.
Police in Brantford initiated an investigation early in the year after its Criminal Intelligence Unit identified a group of people it believed was importing cocaine into Canada.
The drugs were distributed in Brantford and surrounding communities.
As a result of the investigation, Canada Border Services Agency officers stopped the truck early Saturday morning on its way back into Canada. Inside, they found 112 kilograms of cocaine.
Jugrapreet Singh and Amrinder Singh, both 22, of Brantford, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and importing cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The charges have not been proven in court.
