Museum Windsor is opening its doors to the public for the first time since the pandemic hit a year and a half ago.
Both the Chimczuk Museum and Francois Baby House will reopen on November 2.
"Getting people back in our space, and enjoying looking at Windsor's history and experiencing Windsor's history, we're super excited," said Curator Madelyn Della Valle
Along with the museum's permanent exhibition, there are two temporary exhibits currently on display. The first is Bustles and Bows Fashion from the Victorian Era to the 1920s and the second is Navigating Our Way Maps of Windsor and Essex County.
"We will be announcing new exhibitions in the coming weeks once we get our exhibition schedule back on track. As you can imagine, during a pandemic we kept having to delay things and rearrange things," said Della Valle.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, all interactive features throughout the museum, including in the Children's gallery have been temporarily removed.
All visitors are required to wear a mask while in the museum, maintain social distancing of 2 metres, and complete a COVID-19 health screening before accessing either museum. The health screening can be accessed at publicscreening.citywindsor.ca.
