Aerial enforcement leads to 32 charges in Essex County

Ontario Provincial Police in Essex County used aerial enforcement to catch a number of drivers breaking the rules over the weekend.

OPP Aviation Services and the Ministry of Transportation used a helicopter to patrol Highway 401 in Essex County on Monday.

During the patrol, three traffic stops were conducted for stunt driving. Two of the drivers who were stopped were also issued three day license suspensions after officers conducted roadside alcohol tests.

The drivers who were stopped for stunt driving were issued a provincial summons to attend court, along with a 30 day driver's license suspension. Their vehicles were towed and will be impounded for 14 days.

In total, 32 charges were laid as a result of the enforcement.
