Skate Lakeshore received a major grant from the Canadian Tire Corporation Jumpstart's Sport Relief Fund.
The organization received $10,000 from the fund which will go toward purchasing new equipment and hiring new staff. This will allow the group to develop programs and create a fun learning environment.
“It is finally exciting to see everyone back on the ice. With the new tools and our exciting Synchro program we can’t wait to start up the season," said President Sarah Malott.
Skate Lakeshore provides a number of programs for all levels including PreCanSkate, Parent & Tot, CanSkate, PrePower, PreJunior, Junior, StarSkate, Synchro Pre Beginner and Synchro Elementary.
The Jumpstart program has donated $12 million to over 1,200 organizations across Canada through this fund.
