Should the Detroit Grand Prix go back to a street circuit? (Poll)

What would you think if the Detroit Grand Prix moved from Belle Isle to the streets of Downtown Detroit?

The race organizers have the option of extending the agreement with the State of Michigan to host the event on Belle Isle through to 2024, they are exploring a change of venue.

Starting in 2023, they might return the race to a street circuit.

The idea is not entirely new. The race was held on downtown Detroit streets from 1982 to 1991.

"An annual summertime racing festival on the streets of Detroit would represent a connection with the rich heritage of the Grand Prix," said a statement from the event organizers.

They said it would provide a greater boost to the economy in downtown Detroit.

In 2022, the race will return to Belle Isle from June 3 to June 5.
