With an increase of 33 COVID-19 cases, there are now 302 active infections in the community.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported 14 of the new cases had close contact with a previously confirmed case. Another 11 people were infected in the community, and one infection is related to an outbreak. There are seven cases under investigation.
Of the 302 active infections, 190 involve a variant of concern.
Windsor Regional Hospital is reporting 21 patients in its care due to the virus. Of those, ten are in the intensive care unit. Among the patients in the ICU, eight are unvaccinated, and one is only partially vaccinated.
The health unit continues to monitor outbreaks at 14 workplaces, seven schools, three long-term care or retirement homes, and two community establishments.
To date, 82.5 per cent of eligible residents in Windsor-Essex are partially vaccinated, and 76 per cent are fully vaccinated.
