Shots fired in south Windsor neighbourhood

Windsor police are investigating after shots were fired in a south Windsor neighbourhood over the weekend.

Around midnight Saturday, police were called to Longfellow Avenue for a report of multiple gunshots heard in the area.

Witnesses told police a silver or metallic sports car was seen speeding away from the area.

Members of the Emergency Services Unit responded to the call and located a vehicle in the area that matched the description. The vehicle was seized as evidence as it had damage consistent with bullet holes.

A home in the area was also contained and cleared by officers to assure no one was injured inside the home. No injuries were reported. Multiple shell-casings were found in the area.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

The Major Crime Unit is seeking any information that may assist with the active investigation. They area also asking anyone in the area with surveillance cameras to check their footage for possible evidence.
