The 911 systems in some Essex County municipalities experienced technical difficulties Monday evening.
According to Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, the central communications centre for Tecumseh, Essex, Lakeshore, Leamington, Kingsville and Amherstburg went down sometime after 9 p.m. Monday.
The communication centre said it began to receive reports of residents being unable to contact 911 by cell phone. In some instances, a call would ring once or twice before dropping.
Just before midnight, officials confirmed 911 systems have been restored.
