Cyclist with life-threatening injuries after hit and run

Police are investigating a hit and run after a Windsor police patrol officer came across a seriously injured cyclist on Sunday.

Around 8:40 p.m. an officer was driving on Tecumseh Road West near South Pacific Street when they saw a bicycle laying in the road.

The officer stopped to move the bike off the road and saw an injured man laying under the bike. The victim had serious life-threatening injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital by EMS.

The Traffic Reconstruction and Forensic Identification Units attended and processed the scene.

Investigators are asking any residents, business owners or anyone who was in the area to check their security cameras for footage between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday for anything that may assist in the investigation.
