New online map helps residents find services

Residents in Windsor-Essex can now access an online map to find local institutions, organizations, services, and citizen associations.

The Regional Community Safety and Well-Being Asset Map went live this week and highlights more than 1,200 community assets across the region. It will help residents find resources in the community like where to find emergency responders, education, help with food insecurity, and healthcare.

More resources will be added to the map to create a more comprehensive tool.

The map is part of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan that was launched earlier this year and is mandated by the Ontario government. Since the launch, residents have taken part in virtual meetings and provided feedback through a community survey.

The hope is to create a community where everyone feels safe, has a sense of belonging, has access to services and opportunities, and can have their needs met.
