Windsor police investigate alleged impaired driving crash

Police say they have charged one male in connection to a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning near downtown Windsor.

At around 2:15 a.m., officers were called to Elliot Street East and Howard Avenue for a report of a crash involving a black Ford Mustang and grey Dodge Caravan. Paramedics arrived and transported the adult male driver of the Mustang and the two occupants from the van to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Following an investigation into the collision, police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old man and driver of the Mustang with impaired operation of a vehicle.

Those with video surveillance in the area where the incident took place are asked to check their footage for possible evidence.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is encouraged to call Windsor police at 519-255-6700 extension: 4000, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
