Windsor Assembly resumes production for two weeks

Workers at the Windsor Assembly Plant will be back on the job for two weeks in August before they're off the job again for another two weeks.

It's just the latest impact of a worldwide shortage of a needed microchip for the plant's 4,000 workers.

Production resumes next week with Shift 2 on days. It will continue for the week of August 9.

However, Unifor Local 444 said Stellantis informed it the plant would shut down again in the final two weeks of the month. That's the weeks of August 16 and the 23rd.

Production at the plant has been on and off since March.
