Masse wins silver medal in women's 100-metre backstroke

LaSalle native Kylie Masse takes a silver medal in the women's 100-metre backstroke final at the Tokyo Olympics.

Masse secured her silver medal on Tuesday in Tokyo with a time of 57.72 seconds. Australia's Kaylee McKeown, who set a new Olympic record at 57.47 seconds took gold, while America’s Regan Smith, grabbed bronze with a time of 58.05 seconds.

The 25-year-old swimmer captured Canada's fifth Olympic medal so far.

On Monday, London's Maggie Mac Neil won the country's first gold medal in the women's 100-metre butterfly.
