OPP charge two with impaired driving

Essex County OPP charged two people with impaired driving over the weekend.

Officers stopped a vehicle on County Road 42 in Tecumseh on Friday night after a traffic violation. After speaking with the driver, officers believed they had consumed alcohol. The 35-year-old Windsor resident was arrested and charged after providing two samples over the legal limit.

On Saturday afternoon, officers from the Lakeshore detachment responded to a single-vehicle collision on South Middle Road.

After speaking with the uninjured driver, officers saw signs of impairment. The 51-year-old Leamington resident was arrested and charged after providing two samples that showed blood alchold concentrations over the legal limit.

Both accused had their licenses suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
