Vaccine pop-up clinics set for the rest of July

Windsor-Essex residents who still need to get a second COVID-19 vaccine dose, or even a first dose, can take advantage of more pop-up clinics.

Erie Shores Healthcare, as part of its partnership within the Community Response and Stabilization Team (CRST), has announced nine pop-up clinics scheduled for the rest of July.

A website has also been launched to keep the public informed of the dates, times, and locations of these clinics.

The following clinics will be open each day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dates and locations are subject to change.

  • Tuesday, July 20 - Windsor - Frank W. Begley Public School
  • Wednesday, July 21 - Windsor - William G. Davis Public School
  • Thursday, July 22 - Lakeshore - Centennial Central Public School
  • Friday, July 23 - Windsor - Assumption College Catholic
  • Tuesday, July 27 - Windsor - William G. Davis Public School
  • Wednesday, July 28 - Leamington - Queen Elizabeth Public School
  • Thursday, July 29 - Date and location to be determined
  • Friday, July 30 - Windsor - Assumption College Catholic
  • Saturday, July 31 - Windsor - Frank W. Begley Public School
All clinics are open to people aged 12 and older. The vaccines are free while supplies last, and OHIP cards are not required. The mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna will be offered, per guidelines set by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.

The CRST consists of Erie Shores Healthcare, Essex-Windsor EMS, the City of Windsor, the health unit, and the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The pop-up clinics were announced after Windsor-Essex Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed encouraged residents on Friday to get their vaccines as soon as possible. Ahmed said that should cases of COVID-19 go back up, those who aren't fully vaccinated are more susceptible to variants.
