No new cases of COVID-19, official tally drops by three

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported zero new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Wednesday.

It also recorded a decrease of three historical cases due to "routine data clean-up." The official count now reads 16,843 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic started.

The region has 16 active cases in the community now, and three of them involve a variant of concern.

The health unit continues to monitor one workplace outbreak in the region.

To date, 75.8 per cent of adults in Windsor-Essex have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 60.1 per cent have received both doses.

Only 50.9 per cent of children aged 12 to 17 have been partially vaccinated to date.
