LaSalle prepares master plan for stormwater drainage

One Windsor-Essex community will be putting together a master plan for enhancing stormwater control.

The Town of LaSalle has teamed up with Stantec Consulting to create a stormwater master plan. Once completed, it will help identify areas where enhancements in the town's stormwater infrastructure can be made, protecting properties from flooding. The process will also include a municipal class environmental assessment.

The project comes in three parts, with each portion concentrating on a geographic area of LaSalle. Stage One will include catchments along Front Road between Turkey Creek and Gary Avenue. The second part will focus on catchments served by the Marentette Drain. Stage Three will involve catchments along Front Road between Victory Street and Malden Road.

Once the study is completed, a comprehensive report will be prepared for each stage, outlining recommendations while documenting the environmental assessment. The three reports will be ready for public review once the project is completed. The Stage One Draft Final Report is planned for a November 2021 release.

There will also be public information sessions held throughout the project, via the PlaceSpeak program. The first session is on Monday, July 19. The remaining three sessions will discuss alternate solutions for each individual stage. Those sessions will be spread out until the spring or summer of 2022.

Complete information about the study can be found here.
