As of Wednesday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex had dropped to just 28.
Among the active cases, eight have been identified as involving variants of concern.
Local hospitals are treating 11 patients who tested positive for the virus.
Over the last 24 hours, only one new case of COVID-19 was identified. However, there was a net decrease of two cases from the case total after what the Windsor Essex County Health Unit called a "routine data clean up of historical cases."
There was just one new case on Tuesday too.
Since March 2020, there have been 16,832 cases. Of those 16,369 people have recovered, and 435 people have passed away.
A total of 462,122 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been given out in the region. To date, 74.8 per cent of adults have been partially vaccinated, and 52.7 per cent of adults have been fully vaccinated.
