Six COVID-19 cases reported in Windsor-Essex

It was another single digit day in the Windsor area when it comes to the number of new cases of COVID-19.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported six new cases on Sunday. According to the health unit, three of those cases acquired the virus through community spread, while one was a close contact of a confirmed case, and two are still being investigated.

Windsor and Essex County have now seen a total of 16,809 confirmed cases. The region has also recorded 434 deaths related to COVID-19.

There is one workplace outbreak and one community outbreak still being addressed by the health unit.

Nine people are currently in area hospitals being treated for COVID-19.
