If you had a non-refundable flight booked with Sunwing before the pandemic and opted to use the Worry-Free cancellation waiver and received a future travel credit, you can instead get a full refund.
The air carrier has an agreement now with the Canada Enterprise Emergency Funding Corporation for financing to give customers their money back.

Those who do not qualify for a refund include any traveller who already received one, including one from an insurance provider. Customers refunded by initiating a chargeback or have a chargeback in progress don't qualify, along with anyone who transferred their travel credit to another person.
Those customers who booked their flights through a travel agency or a third party need to contact them to request their refund.
The clock is ticking. Sunwing will only offer the refunds until midnight August 27, 2021.
Customers who plan to use their travel credit still can. It is good until September 30, 2026.
The refund applies to hotel, flights, and vacation packages booked after February 1, 2020.
