Matchette Road robbery suspect found

Windsor police say a man wanted in an armed robbery in the west end has been arrested.

Constable Darius Goze said 23-year-old Cody Farrugia was taken into custody at around 11 p.m. Wednesday. No further details on the arrest were given.

Farrugia had been wanted in connection with a convenience store robbery on May 20. Surveillance cameras showed a man entering the store on Matchette Road, brandishing what appeared to be a crowbar, and leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.

Farrugia is charged with robbery with an offensive weapon. This has yet to been proven in court.

The Major Crime Unit is still investigating this incident, and police would like to thank the public for its help in resolving this matter.

Anyone with information on this case should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830, or Crime Stoppers.
