Labour peace at four manufacturing employers in the region

Workers at Flex N Gate Howard, Central Stamping, KB Components, and Lakeside Plastics all have new collective agreements.

Unifor Local 195 says workers at the four employers all approved their new collective agreements over the weekend.

Local President Emile Nabbout said, "We made many gains in these agreements, from wage, benefits, pension, bereavement across the board."

At KB Components, workers voted in favour by a margin of 76 per cent. Over 72 per cent of the workers at Central Stamping voted yes. At Lakeside Plastics, 78.4 per cent expressed their approval, and production and non-skilled employees at Flex N Gate ratified it by a margin of 72.5 per cent, while 52 per cent of skilled trades workers signed off on it.

So far, the local has successfully negotiated nine collective agreements without work stoppages.

Next up, the union will sit down with management at Centoco, where the workers just recently joined Unifor Local 195.
