A new public education campaign aims to promote vaccination against COVID-19 no matter what language you speak.
More than a quarter of residents in Windsor-Essex speak a language other than English or French at home. At the same time, thousands of international students have come to the region to continue their studies.
In a bid to reach more residents, the WEVax partnership, which includes the City of Windsor, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, Windsor Regional Hospital, and Erie Shores Healthcare, have decided to translate a new flyer into ten different languages.
The two-page flyer will answer common questions about eligibility, clinic locations, and what to expect at your appointment.
It'll be translated into Arabic, Cantonese, Italian, Polish, Punjabi, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, and Urdu, the top languages spoken in the region besides English and French.
Visitors to WEVax.ca can also access information in more than 100 languages or have it read aloud to them.
