The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit wants to know more about how local companies and their workers are coping during the pandemic.
It has partnered with the Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex County Branch and Family Services Windsor-Essex on a workforce mental health study.
"The role of local organizations in supporting employee mental health has never been more important," said Director of Communications and Mental Health Promotion at the local CMHA, Kim Willis. "As adults, we spend a large part of our lives in the workplace. It is increasingly important for employers to provide a psychologically healthy and safe workplace."
Employers are encouraged to participate in a new survey. It will help the health unit find out where there are gaps in services.
Those who take part will receive a tailored report and recommended resources.
"The tailored resources and reports for each participating workplace will be a big asset to human resource planning and employee wellness programs," said Courtney Williston, the mental health specialist at the health unit. "By participating in the survey, local employers will add a major tool to their arsenal in preventing lost time and supporting the mental health of their team."
