Fewer people are getting tested for COVID-19, so Windsor Regional Hospital is adjusting the hours again at its Ouellette Campus assessment centre.
It has changed the hours according to demand for testing throughout the pandemic, and the latest adjustment takes effect on Monday, March 29.
The hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week.
Despite the change, the hospital believes it will still be able to accommodate same-day and next-day bookings. Those who go will still have to make an appointment by going to its website.
While the assessment centre in downtown Windsor can test 500 people a day, fewer than 400 have come out recently. That is far below the record number set on January 11 when 631 people came out for a swab.
Back on March 12, the hospital closed down its assessment centre at its Met Campus, but the one at Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington remains open.
The change frees up staff to help out at vaccination clinics at the WFCU Centre, the Sportsplex at St. Clair College, and the University of Windsor's Windsor Hall on Ferry Street.
Should demand peak again, the hospital will re-assess hours at the assessment centre.
