The City of Windsor is looking for feedback on the design of a new splash pad in Fontainebleau.
The splash pad will be located at Fontainebleau Park behind the library. It will be the 11th splash pad in the city when it opens in the summer of 2022.
Construction is expected to cost around $400,000. Ward 8 Councillor Gary Kaschak is dedicating $200,000 of his ward funds to the project, while the rest comes from the 2022 capital budget.
“Residents have waited a long time for this day, and I am happy to be contributing $200,000 from my ward funds to help make this splash pad a reality for all the families and children in Fontainebleau who have been dreaming and wishing for this in our community,” said Kaschak. “You deserve it, and today is the start of our splash pad dream becoming a reality.”
The Fontainebleau Park currently includes an accessible playground, basketball courts, a soccer field, and multi-use trails.
A survey is now available online to collect residents' feedback on potential themes and features of the splash pad. It will be available until April 2.
City staff will use the feedback to come up with a preferred design which will come back to city council for further feedback before construction starts.
