No injuries were reported as the result of a fire at a Leamington auto part manufacturer.
Leamington fire crews responded to the ElringKlinger Canada facility on Seneca Lane at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
The fire appeared to come from the roof of the business. Multiple units were called to the scene, along with at least one tower truck from Kingsville. The Lakeshore Fire Department was also on standby.
Crews were able to keep the fire confined to the roof. The incident was declared over shortly after 1 p.m. with firefighters performing overhaul.
Fire Chief Andrew Baird told Blackburn News that quick thinking and the rapid crew response kept the situation from being much worse.
"The quick response by our station crew saved a considerable amount of damage with a two-minute response, as they were out of the area," said Baird.
The cause of the fire and a damage estimate have not yet been determined.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that Seneca Lane off Seacliff Drive was closed to traffic as emergency crews complete their work.
