Traffic stop leads to charges for a Windsor man

A 61-year-old man is looking at several charges after a traffic stop yielded drugs and a prohibited weapon.

Windsor police say patrol officers stopped a vehicle around noon Sunday in the area of Howard Avenue and Erie Street East. The vehicle was allegedly driven erratically and dangerously.

A search of the driver and the vehicle uncovered an unspecified quantity of fentanyl, along with a spring-assisted knife.

Brian Breault of Windsor has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of fentanyl for trafficking, failure to comply with a judicial release order, and three counts of failure to comply with a prohibition order.

These charges have not been proven in court.
