Two arrested, one wanted in January arson fire

Windsor police have arrested two people and are searching for a third, in connection with a January house fire.

Firefighters and police officers responded to the call on Magnolia Avenue near Firgrove Drive, at around 1 a.m. January 15. One person in the house was treated on the spot for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators soon determined that the fire was set on purpose.

Windsor Police's Arson Unit was able to obtain security camera footage from the neighbourhood and identified three people and a suspect vehicle.

The vehicle was seized on January 19. After getting a search warrant, police seized various pieces of evidence.

The arrests were made on Tuesday at a home on Whelpton Avenue near Hickory Road.

Connie Anderson, 39, and Gary Wessel, 45, have both been charged with arson with disregard for human life, and possession of incendiary material for arson. Wessel is also charged with possession of methamphetamine. These charges have yet to be proven in court.

Windsor police are looking for 39-year-old Richard Trudell, who is wanted for arson with disregard for human life, and possession of incendiary material.
